Turkey's friendly culture, Mediterranean climate and unparalleled value for money have made it a favourite Holiday destination for Millions of Britains each year.
More recently these points have also made it one of the top emerging markets for property investors.
To serious investor its qualifications are equally as impressive: Turkey is outside the Euro, bringing the advantages of cheap materials and labour, but stands at the door to the EU. It is still one of the cheapest locations for property but prices are climbing (15% to 45% per annum, dependant on region). The entry of Turkey into the European Community, possibly as early as 2007, will inevitably result in a further boost to the accelerating property boom.
The world of finance tends to follow a boom bust cycle. Currently house prices in the UK are at an all time high, this gives UK home owners unprecedented purchasing power, but many people are beginning to speculate that the frenzied house price boom of the past decade could be a bubble on the edge of bursting. But with many other European countries in the same position, for example Spain where house prices have been rising at an average of 9% per year since 1987 (A 1987 50K luxury villa would now cost more than 200K) Investors are beginning to look east, towards Turkey and the new European states.
